On July 20, 2021, billionaire Jeff Bezos boarded a rocket designed by his company Blue Origin. Along with his brother and two other crew members, the New Shephard spaceship took the former Amazon CEO into space, where he stayed for about 11 minutes before returning to Earth.

When restrictions were in place throughout last summer due to the COVID-19 virus, Taiwan's recreation areas were off limits to people. However, there were still plenty of visitors walking around the parks. With fewer people in sight, the wildlife in places like Yushan National Park was able to wander freely. Normally shy animals like the Formosan sambar deer, Formosan serow and Mikado pheasants were common sights over the summer, according to park officials.
